Something good happened at my day job today. On the face that's not terribly unusual, because good things happen everyday to most people. I don't mean to be glib, I know the world is also full of suffering, I'm just saying that good things happen often. Really, it's perspective that allows a person to recognize something as good, because what is good to me might not be good to Bill Gates or the Micheal Jordan or some other similiarly "blessed" individual. And, what is good to someone in Somalia or North Korea might not be recognized as good by me.
This reminds of something I recently read: the majority of people living on earth still have never used a telephone. I feel sorry for those who haven't had the convenience, but perhaps someday they may feel sorry for me because I have a cranial tumor the size of a grapefruit from using a cell phone for years.
Anyway, what is notable about this good event that happened at work is that everyone thinks it's good. Every employee is unified in their feeling that this event is wonderful. Such singularity of opinion rarely ever happens anywhere.
